Jake’s Workshop converts his 3D printer (A Prusa I3) into a laser cutter…well…laser engraver unless you want the most expensive pair of scissors ever invented. It uses a 500w laser for AliExpress. Laser, driver and safety googles are currently selling for $34.

A 3d printer & laser engraver have a great overlap in machine requirements so you can switch from one capability to the other without compromising the function of either one. I own a couple printers but I’ve looked into engravers and they just don’t seem very useful to me, ha ha.
