By day, I work in a machine shop where we have tons of items: Some common, some uncommon, but all dirty. Today’s model is a yellow container we used to transfer hydraulic oil from a 55 gallon drum to the our machine tools.
The process started by creating a photogrammetry scan with Zephyr. The Zephyr model was exported as an OBJ file and then imported into Blender. A lo-poly geometry was created around the 3D scan, and then shrink- wrapped onto the scan. After some topology improvements, textures were painted onto the new geometry.
